How long it has been!
So much has gone on that I dare not even attempt to update you. I shall give a lsit of what’s going on these days though, to sort of give an idea.
-Working away, done all the festivals in summer and doing football games and gigs as usual. Met Biffy Clyro at work in Ibrox!
-In Scottish Opera’s Connect, going for a solo role which is exciting I guess.
-Joined the RSNO Chorus. Loads of concerts and such coming up, exciting!
-Co-running a rock choir with my friend Charlene. I’m the piano/create the harmonies guy!
-Sitting Grade 5 theory and violin in November.
-Applied for the RCS, Got my audition in November, which I am genuinely not ready for.
-Taking part in the Inverclyde Music Festival next year.
-Still in NYCoS, had the course in Julyish times, was good to see old friends and make new ones.
-Also went to the dentist recently- after 40 minutes of trying and failing to find a vein, we decided to give up. I’m currently bruised to fuck and have no treatment done. Too busy though, will have to wait until after exams and auditions to do it.
Room is currently catastrophic. Got a new violin in advance for my birthday, dyed hair red again and it’s already going ginger. started confusing myself again about stretching my ears, piercings and all that such. I know how it is, wanting to be 2 people but having to squeeze them into 1 life without killing either off. sigh.
I don’t know why I do this to myself. it’s like 6.30am and I should have been i bed about 4 hours ago. I’ve been feeling really lethargic and overly tired and lazy the past few days, no energy because my diet is so poor and I’m so not active nor fit. Also, have almost no money at all, so I’ll probably die over winter. Regardless, I’m studying much more than normal (which was none) and even if I don’t get into RCS, here’s what I hope to have achieved this year;
Sit Higher English - I got a B!
Audition for RSNO Chorus - Got in, Soprano 1!
Grade 5 Violin - Aiming for a pass.
Grade 5 Theory - Aiming for Distinction, oh yeeaahh.
Keep rock choir going - got 2 concerts coming up in November!
Get a solo role in Connect - Audition is in 3 weeks!
Fillings in front teeth - I tried, my veins have so far let me down ._.
Lose a stone - lost half a stone, put more back on. FAIL LOL. Still have 2.5 months left though!
Get another job to fit my busy life - hard, but hopeful.
Well, here’s to the end of the year- hopefully next time we speak things can only have gotten better.
